Chris Wilder will know all about the expectancy that hangs over being the Sheffield United manager, and next season will be no different for the lifelong Blades fan.

The Blades will be embarking on a 6th season in League One and will be desperate to get out finally, giving their loyal supporters something to finally cheer about.

It will not be an easy task though, as proved by the failures of Danny Wilson, David Weir, Nigel Clough, and recently, Nigel Adkins.

The foundations are there though for United, and many believe if they can get out of League One, then they will have an excellent chance of consolidating once again in the Championship.

There is expected to be a high turnover of players during the summer, with plenty of incomings and outgoings due to take place as Wilder builds his squad.

Here then, are THREE reasons why Chris Wilder will lead Sheffield United to promotion...

He will bring the passion back

Bramall Lane can be one of the hardest places for away teams to visit in the football league. However, over recent years, clubs seem to have put this thought to bed, as United's home form has been patchy to say the least.

Under Nigel Adkins, all the passion that you would expect from a Sheffield United team had disappeared, with tippy tappy football bizarre tactics galore.

Chris Wilder however will not have that. He will demand fight and effort from his players, something which should transcend onto the terraces at the Lane.

If Wilder can get his team playing with passion and guts, the Blades fans will buy into it, meaning it could well make all the difference for the clubs home form next term.

He knows the lower leagues

Sheffield United have fell foul in recent seasons of trying to bring in players from the league above or from Scotland, in the hope that they are good enough to guide them to promotion.

Wilder seems to want to change this philosophy and bring in the best players from around League One and Two. It is a decision which most Blades fans have taken a liking too, and the signings of Chris Hussey and Mark Duffy already demonstrate this new plan.

A few seasons ago Sheffield Wednesday did exactly this under Dave Jones and Gary Megson, and it worked a treat.

If Wilder can adopt the same approach and get the right men in from the teams around the Blades, then it could well be a solid formula to win promotion.

Attacking football

Wilder will fully want to utilise the attacking talents in the Blades squad, and his track record suggests he will go for attacking football to achieve his goals.

His Northampton side scored 82 goals last season in League Two, a record only bettered by one of Wilder's previous clubs, Oxford United.

In Che Adams, Billy Sharp, Matt Done, Marc Mcnulty, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the Blades have more than enough attacking talent at their disposal across the forward positions.

If Wilder can get them all playing well and all contributing in front of goal, then we may well see United back in the Championship.

Blades fans, would you agree with this assessment? How confident are you going into next season? Let us know in the comments!!!
