Brentford are in talks with Blackburn Rovers over the signing of goalkeeper David Raya, according to Sky Sports.

The 23-year-old has been an important player for Blackburn over the past few seasons, since graduating from the club's academy and kept ten clean sheets for Rovers last season.

Brentford are in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer, with last season's number one Daniel Bentley having joined Bristol City at the weekend and number two Luke Daniels having been linked with a move away from the club.

Here are three reasons why Raya would be a good signing for Brentford...

His experience

Even though he's still only 23, Raya has a considerable amount of experience with Blackburn since graduating from their academy.

The goalkeeper has made over 100 appearances for Rovers since breaking into the first-team at Ewood Park four years ago.

He's also got a considerable amount of experience in the Championship, having made 41 league appearances for Blackburn last season, keeping an impressive ten clean sheets.

He'd be an ideal replacement for Daniel Bentley

Bentley has now completed his move to Bristol City, signing a four-year deal at Ashton Gate.

He was an important player for the Bees last season and I'm sure Brentford fans will be disappointed to see him leave the club. However, Raya could be the perfect replacement for him.

He's a very talented young goalkeeper and already has a considerable amount of experience in the Championship. He should be able to make an immediate impact for Brentford and could turn out to be an ideal replacement for Bentley.

Back-up goalkeeper Luke Daniels impressed towards the end of last season and was able to keep four clean sheets in the Championship, with Bentley out with a shoulder injury.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club this summer, with Millwall and Leeds United both thought to be interested in him.

If he stays at the club, Raya is more than capable of challenging Daniels for the number one spot at Griffin Park next season.

His age

It's important to remember that Raya is still only 23 and his best years are still ahead of him.

He's already an extremely talented goalkeeper and he's shown already that he could have what it takes to become one of the best in the Championship.

He's got a lot of potential and he will only improve with more experience. He'd be a superb signing for Brentford, if they can somehow persuade him to leave Ewood Park and it would be a major blow for Blackburn to lose him.
