Cast your minds back to the opening four games of the Championship season.

Bolton fans couldn't have dreamed for a better start to the season, as they were sat joint-top of the Championship and were unbeaten under Phil Parkinson.

But, that dream seems a distant memory as Bolton have slipped down the table and are now just a point clear of the relegation zone.

Many supporters will be expecting a long season ahead, with the threat of relegation a real worry this season in a hugely competitive division.

They were amongst the pre-season favourites to drop down to League One and they are showing exactly why.

Parkinson's side have only picked up a single point from their last six league games, which will make concerning reading for everyone connected with the club.

Here at FLW, we take a look at THREE reasons why Bolton are truly doomed...

Bolton have retained their status as a Championship club in recent seasons through tight margins.

Their home form is going to be key over the course of the year and they will be keen to improve this season's record.

Parkinson's side have only won twice on home soil, which is really concerning.

It will be hard to admit, but Bolton fans would have to agree in saying that they have one of the weaker squads in the Championship this season.

The lack of squad depth could be a real issue for Parkinson as the festive period approaches, but with a lack of funds available to him, he can only do so much with the current playing squad.

This will be the most concerning point for both Bolton fans and Parkinson.

The Trotters have only scored 11 goals this season, a Championship low.

It doesn't look like improving anytime soon.
