West Brom have recently emerged as the frontrunners to strike a deal for Arsenal winger, Emile Smith Rowe according to The Mirror via Birmingham Mail.

The Arsenal man has been hugely impressive in their Europa League campaign this season, but is yet to make an appearance in their league campaign.

It will come as no surprise to see the Baggies in the market for a winger, as on-loan Leicester midfielder, Harvey Barnes was recently recalled by his parent club.

It leaves a sizeable void in the West Brom starting XI and they will need to find a replacement at the earliest of opportunities to help fire them to promotion.

Smith Rowe has two goals to his name in their European campaign, and certainly will be looking to secure regular first-team football as soon as possible.

But would Smith Rowe be the ideal addition for West Brom if he arrived?

We look into the reasons why he would be the missing piece in the jigsaw below….

He has a point to prove in first-team football

The youngster has been unlucky not to have started any league games and he certainly has a point to prove this season.

If he can become a regular in the West Brom squad, then he could prove to be an excellent signing for the remainder of this year's campaign.

Arsenal will be hoping that he can find regular football with Darren Moore's side, as it could definitely further his development in the professional game.

It's a win-win situation for the Baggies

With Smith-Rowe potentially arriving on loan for the rest of the season would certainly be a risk free deal.

The Arsenal winger is after regular first-team football and Arsenal are likely to want to let the youngster further his development with a loan move.

West Brom are in need of a replacement for Harvey Barnes who departed the club recently, and Smith Rowe would be the like-for-like replacement for the Leicester man.

He displays similar attributes to Harvey Barnes

Smith Rowe already has an impressive goalscoring record in the Europa League, and that will be a huge bonus for West Brom.

His confidence, pace and trickery are similar to what Harvey Barnes had shown for the Baggies in the first-half of the season.

If he can showcase his potential on a regular basis, then he can play a starring role in the Baggies’ promotion bid.
