Cardiff City were held to a draw by battling Brentford this weekend in a game that could have really boosted their Championship survival chances with a win.

But two last-minute goals ensured the game ended in a draw and for Neil Warnock, it was another afternoon of what could have been. The Bluebirds desperately need to start winning games if they are to continue to give themselves a chance of remaining in the Championship come the end of the campaign and this is a match that could have resulted in just that.

But despite the frustrating result at Griffin Park, there was one Cardiff City man that deserves to be singled out for praise more than the rest.

The man in question? Kenneth Zohore, who was absolutely fantastic upfront for the Bluebirds all afternoon.

He'd only featured seven times before today but in the Danish U21 international, they might have found a real diamond in the rough.

And here at the FLW, we think he could be the man to fire the Bluebirds to safety this season and here's 3 reasons why...

He's a tireless worker who has a real instinct upfront

We haven't seen a lot of Kenneth Zohore this season but it was fantastic to see him getting a full run-out against Brentford and rewarding Neil Warnock with his selection.

He battled tirelessly upfront all afternoon and was more than deserving of his goal and he could very much have scored two on the day as well. The early signs are very good indeed and if he can keep up the good form, there is no reason why he shouldn't be the man to fire Cardiff to safety this campaign.

He's keeping Rickie Lambert out of the side

Rickie Lambert was on the bench during the draw against the Bees and not once did you get the impression he was needed with Zohore fighting away up-front.

Whilst Lambert is an experienced hand to have in the side, the youthful exuberance of Zohore is the sort of energy the Bluebirds need to keep them up and fighting right now in their campaign.

Things obviously haven't been working out at Cardiff this season and throwing Zohore into the mix could be the sort of move that saves their season.

He's been doing well for the U23's

When a young, foreign striker tries to break into the first-team at an English club for the first time, a good sign is always their form for the reserves.

And leading up to today, Zohore has been banging in goals for the Cardiff City U23's and now looks set to bring that into the first-team.

It's a natural transition that always seems to be the best way to bring young talent through and Zohore could not turn into the saviour Cardiff fans have been calling out for all season.
