Everton youngster Kieran Dowell gave Toffees fans a glimpse of his exciting potential with a number of impressive performances for Nottingham Forest in the Championship last season.

The 21-year-old made his first-team debut for Everton during the 2014/2015 season but hasn't had a league appearance for the Premier League side in two seasons.

Dowell was sent out on loan to Forest last season and he certainly showed what a promising player Everton have on their hands during his time at the club.

He made 31 starts for the Reds last season, scoring on nine occasions and assisting four times in a breakthrough season for the youngster.

But with Dowell not making a competitive appearance for Everton this season, it seems that his short-term future lies elsewhere, and there are sure to be a number of club chasing his signature.

We look at reasons why Graham Potter's Swansea could be the ideal destination for the midfielder.

Find out those reasons here...

Swansea have been considered as too defensive at times this season but Dowell would provide the Swans with some much-needed creativity in the midfield.

He would complement Leroy Fer well with the Dutchman being known to play a more defensive role in the Swansea side.

This would give Dowell the chance to roam forward and create chances for Graham Potter's side.

The statistics speak for themselves, and Dowell will be looking for another impressive spell in the Championship, should he opt to join the Swans.

With nine goals and four assists from midfield for Nottingham Forest last season, he certainly has shown that he can impress in the Championship.

With Dowell occupying the CAM role, he would be the ideal player to provide Swans striker Oliver McBurnie with the service he needs to become a 20 goal striker this season.

McBurnie is Swansea's top scorer this season with four goals but will be looking to improve that record before he has Wilfried Bony challenging him for a starting spot at the club.
