Sheffield Wednesday are set to embark on their play-off campaign, with Chris Hughton's Brighton and Hove Albion standing between them and a place in the Wembley showpiece final.

It has been a season of success for the Owls under new manager Carlos Carvalhal, who has spent a bit of money it must be said, but has done a superb job of getting them to gel and play in an attractive manner.

While many Wednesday fans are saying that the season is already a success, they would love nothing more than to win the play offs and get themselves back in the Premier League for the first time since the turn of the millennium.

The Owls have enough about them to not be worried about Brighton, and they are some peoples tip to pull off a bit of a shock and go all the way.

The strike force

In Gary Hooper and Fernando Forestieri, the Owls have two of the top marksmen in the league when it comes to goals.

The pair can strike fear into even the meanest defence, and the Hillsborough faithful will be hoping they both hit top form going into the first leg this weekend.

Hooper has turned out to be a steal since his move from Norwich, likewise Forestieri, who was many people's pick for player of the season in the entire Championship.

If these two can fire, then Brighton have a lot to worry about.

Crowd backing

Hillsborough will be absolutely rocking and packed to the rafters for the first leg, and this can inspire the Owls to victory for sure.

It is the biggest ground outside the top flight, and when full, with the crowd in full voice, is an intimidating place for away teams to visit.

Carlos Carvalhal will be hoping his team use this to rise to the occasion, rather than crumble under pressure, in the hope his team can take a lead into the second leg at the AMEX.

Dunk and Stephens missing

Brighton are set to be without two key men in Lewis Dunk and captain Dale Stephens, and this could well prove crucial.

It will give the Owls players a lift when they look at the teamsheet knowing those two are not playing, while it will mean players stepping into big shoes for the Seagulls.

Chris Hughton will trust his squad, but there is no doubt these two will be a big miss. In games which are usually so tight and settled by 1 or 2 goals, fine margins like this could prove crucial come the final whistle.
