Middlesbrough have enjoyed a very good start to the season, with Tony Pulis' side currently second in the Championship as they seek automatic promotion.

Their positive start has been built on an extremely solid defence, with Boro conceding just four goals in 11 games, keeping eight clean sheets in the process.

It's a remarkable statistic and it's a real team effort, with the side very well organised throughout.

However, despite that, the Teesside outfit have scored only 14 goals so far, far fewer than many of their rivals.

Therefore, Pulis will be on the lookout for more attacking options in January and someone he should consider making a move for is Oliver Burke - who is at his old club West Brom.

Here we look at THREE reasons why he would be a good signing for Boro...

You would imagine West Brom will be reluctant to selling a player to a promotion rival in January, but Burke may push for a move as he is way down the pecking order under Darren Moore.

He can't make the matchday squad for games and Bakary Sako's arrival won't make things easier for him.

The youngster's career is stalling and he will be desperate to leave should an opportunity arise.

Boro lost Adama Traore to Wolves in the summer and it was a massive blow, as most of their attacking play went through him.

Whilst the Spaniard is a very unique player with his explosive pace and dribbling ability, Burke is similar in the sense that he wants to run at players and is exciting to watch.

Boro are lacking that spark, someone who can carry the ball and give them a quick option on the break from out wide, so bringing in the Albion man would certainly add something to the group.

Even though he seems to have been around for a long time, Burke is still only 21.

He is a player that RB Leipzig decided to spend £13m on as a teenager with Albion bringing him back to England for a fee in the same region.

That goes to show that he is a player with enormous potential and talent.

Pulis got the best out of Traore and he could do similar with Burke, who seemed destined for the top a few years ago.
