Queens Park Rangers' Ebere Eze has been the talk of a Premier League transfer this season, with Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton said to be interested. But why should he stay at QPR?

Now in his fourth season at QPR, this one has certainly been the breakthrough one for Eze. Now with nine goals and four assists already this season, he's well surpassed his return of four goals last season and impressively has been involved in more goals now (13) than any other player under 21 in the top-four English divisions.

QPR fans are ruing his expected departure with every game but they need not, as the 21-year-old has good reason to stay with the West Londoners for a bit longer at least. Here we take a look at three reasons why Eze should stay with QPR this January:

Mourinho's notoriety and Saints doomed?

As decorated and respected a manager Jose Mourinho is, if Eze were to join his Spurs side it would ruin his career. A manager notorious for shunning youth, it'd be a surprise if that deal even went through now but should it happen, Eze wouldn't get half the game-time needed to properly develop him.

That leaves Southampton as the next best option. They've shown a strong interest in Eze this season but again this is a move that doesn't really make sense - they're looking like they'll be relegated this season so Eze would be right back in the Championship next year anyway?

Warburton's watchful eye

No manager has got as much from Eze as Warburton has. Ian Holloway introduced him to the first-team, but Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink didn't favour him. Steve McClaren got a little more out of him but it was the former Bees boss who's really established Eze as a top player.

He looks to be improving as the season goes on as well - why would Eze want to disrupt his progression under Warburton to go and sit on the bench in the Premier League? He's playing a tonne of football right now, and that's the best thing for him.

Viva la QPRevolution

Who's to say that QPR won't be in the Premier League in the near future? It probably won't be this season but Warburton is definitely starting a project at QPR and with the players he's signed and the youngsters he's already got, they could become real promotion challengers if they have a good summer next year.

Eze is the man who's fronting this 'QPR revolution' - he's the 'Golden Boy' of this whole set-up and if he were to guide QPR to an unprecedented promotion next year, he'd be heralded in West London folklore. He's a lot to contemplate in the coming weeks, but there's every chance he'll stay at QPR.
