Tonight's televised game in League Two pits Mansfield Town against their local rivals Lincoln City, with a huge amount at stake for both clubs.

The Imps are currently leading the way at the top of the table, five points clear of Bury in second. The Stags are fourth, ten points shy of the top but a single point behind MK Dons with a game in hand.

It's certainly tight for a place in the automatic promotion spots, although both Lincoln and Bury do look to have a clear advantage. Of the top four, only MK Dons have played 38, with everyone else currently on 37.

Tonight's fixture at Field Mill pit two ambitious sides against each other, arguably two of the best sides in the division in a winner-takes-all encounter. A Lincoln win all but secures them a top three spot.

A Mansfield win sets them in good stead for a top three place and maybe a late assault on the title.

Of the two, it's far more important the Stags get the victory, here are three reasons why...

Ground News

John Radford has secured a deal to take control of Field Mill, giving everyone a boost around the club.

Defeat will take the gloss of what is a really important piece of news for the club's future.

Chasing Pack

Tranmere are only four points behind the Stags and to avoid it becoming an even more packed race for a top three spot, they need a win.

Defeat would see Micky Mellon's side make a late charge to oust MK and Mansfield from the automatic hunt.

Local Pride

It's been 12 years since Lincoln City last beat Mansfield in League action. They've played seven times since in both the National League and League Two without a win.

The Stags might be adrift in the title race, but there's a huge amount of local pride at stake here.
