Macclesfield Town looked doomed in League Two at one point this season.

Their fairytale promotion had turned into a relegation nightmare as they slipped well adrift of the other strugglers.

That's no longer the case and their win against Yeovil this weekend lifted them to within three points of safety with a game in hand over the Glovers.

Sol Campbell is in charge at Moss Rose, it's his first management job and one of the toughest he'll ever have, should he keep them in League Two.

It's also a great place to use a springboard, with Paul Ince launching his managerial career with the Cheshire club.

Survival would be a great achievement and despite the three-point gap, here's three reasons we think they might just stay in the Football League.

Yeovil's form

The Glovers are the one side Macclesfield are gunning for, having beaten them at the weekend.

They've lost nine of their last eleven matches and only have one of the bottom ten clubs left to play.

They're in real trouble.

Crucial home matches

Looking at Yeovil's fixtures, four wins could be enough to keep them in the Football League.

They face Cambridge and Morecambe at home in their run in, as well as travelling to 20th Port Vale.

Those two home matches could be critical.

Kieran O'Hara

Dean Henderson and Sam Johnstone have made their name on loan from Manchester United higher up the Football League, but O'Hara is doing the same in League Two.

He's had a solid season under a lot of pressure and is a quality young keeper.

He could be important over the coming weeks.
