When Leeds sold Ronaldo Vieira in the summer, it raised a few eyebrows to say the least. Serie A side Sampdoria came in with a significant offer of £6.2m which seemed too good to turn down.

The youngster had impressed during his Leeds time and with England Under 20 and Under 21 honours to his name, he was widely regarded as one of the most impressive players to graduate from their youth squad.

It is incredibly hard to turn down a Serie A club though. Sampdoria might not be challenging for the Italian title but they're a big club with a proud history. They're based in the historic city of Genoa and are an iconic name in their country.

Since the move, Vieira might be having second thoughts. It seems that all is not as it seemed and perhaps the 20-year old might be regretting swapping the Championship for Serie A.

Here are three reasons why he's already regretting his summer move.

The big fee hasn't led to increased chances and Vieira has just 26 minutes of Serie A action to his name.

This surely can't be what he expected when they shelled out such a big fee for him in the summer.

Seeing Tyler Roberts getting a start recently, as well as the improvement in Kalvin Phillips must be a big blow.

There's clearly a focus on youth in the current Leeds set up and Vieira must be thinking he's missed an opportunity to shine.

Everyone who works with Bielsa has good things to say about him and Vieira might be thinking he should have stuck around and learned from the master.

How much choice he was given in the transfer is another thing entirely, but the chance to work with a revered coach seems to have passed him by now.
