BBC Radio Leeds pundit and former Whites' striker Noel Whelan has been giving his opinion on Izzy Brown recently, claiming the on-loan Chelsea prospect will be like a new signing when he regains fitness.

Brown is currently at Elland Road despite not being fit to appear, having joined in the summer. The idea behind the move is he recovers in the Leeds squad and becomes part of their method so when he is fit, he's already clear on what is required and knows his team mates.

It was unusual to see an injured player move, especially when he was so far from fitness, but with the new year approaching he's soon going to be ready for action and that can only mean good things for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Brown will be like a new signing for Leeds, Whelan is spot on. Here's three reasons from FLW why he was right.

The obvious reason is this; Brown hasn't played for the club and when he does come in, he'll be fresh-faced and new to the fans.

That makes him like a new signing, especially for the fans who won't have seen him.

New signing add value at key times and Brown will do just that. What's more, he'll be integrated already and won't need to settle in at all.

He'll be like an immediate impact player, a new faces already familiar with tactics and set up.

They're the best kind.

New signings boost the whole squad and Brown will give his team mates a lift at a crucial time.

He'll add depth and options, but as some of the other lads get tired legs or need a rest, the new boy will sweep in and make a difference. Just like any new signing would.
