Marc McNulty is a man that has fallen out of favour at Reading and he will be hoping to find himself regular first-team football in the near future with the January transfer window.

He has been linked with a return to former side, Coventry City, as they look to find the missing piece in their jigsaw as they emerge as surprise play-off contenders this season.

McNulty has been limited to just four starts for Reading this season, and he has found the back of the net on one occasion, with a well placed header against Stoke City.

But his lack of game time will be a real concern for the striker, and he will surely be wanting his future resolved at the earliest opportunity.

A return to Coventry would certainly make sense, as he could be the man to fire them up the table, after already proving he can score goals for the Sky Blues.

McNulty scored 28 goals in Coventry's promotion winning season last year and he'd feel as though he could have a say in their fate this season.

But why should Coventry be eyeing a deal for McNulty this month?

Find out here.....

When McNulty left Coventry in the summer in favour of a move to Reading, many fans were left disappointed as he was a firm fans favourite at the club.

He played a crucial role in their promotion winning season, and many fans would love to see the forward return in this transfer window.

McNulty will feel as though he has unfinished business at Coventry and will be keen to find regular game time int eh near future.

The pacy forward scored 28 goals in Coventry's promotion winning season, and many would have predicted to see McNulty continue to score goals for the Sky Blues.

He has a knack of being in the right place at the right time, and he could be the man that Coventry need to fire them back into play-off contention for the remainder of the season.

McNulty has been unlucky not to have started many games for Reading this season, and it's unlikely he'll be given a chance by newly appointed boss, Jose Gomes anytime soon.

The forward has made just four starts this season, and has scored one just one occasion which is a disappointing return since he arrived in the summer.

He'll be keen to prove to Reading what they're missing out on with a successful spell with Coventry if he does opt to return to the League One side.
