Bristol City were always going to struggle to recreate their early season form of the last campaign, but the level of struggle this time out is highly concerning.

They've won three in twelve and have just one victory from the last five matches, with four defeats. They're 14th in the table, eight points clear of the bottom three but six outside the play off spots.

Whilst they're not amongst the front runners just yet, there are signs they might be able to turn the corer. The 3-2 win at Ipswich last night wasn't a huge shock, but it showed fortitude and resilience to put four straight defeats behind them.

They face Millwall this weekend, another side struggling for points, a game which could easily see them elevate themselves back up the table. In such a tightly-knit group of teams, a win or two can go an awfully long way.

They've been boosted by the return of a big summer signing, Hakeeb Adelakun.

His influence could have a major impact on Bristol City's season going forwards from now, so here's three reasons we feel he'll get them going....

The flying winger didn't renew his contract with Scunthorpe and arrived for free, but his impact is set to be significant.

He's got pace and trickery on the wing and that will be a big boost for the Robins.

If he can frighten some full backs and create chances, they've got players who can bag a few goals.

There's a psychological boost to getting Adelakun back and in the side and that might inspire the players around him.

I don't like the saying 'like a new signing' because in effect, he is.

However, he's been around the team for a while and will surely I've everyone a lift with his comeback.

He's been bang on form before his injury, enjoying his best season ever with Scunthorpe and adding spectacular goals to his game.

If he can weigh in with one or two it might help turn a defeat to a draw, or a draw to a win.

Getting points on the board is the only thing that will drive Lee Johnson's side up the table.
