It will take a collapse of monumental proportions for Wolverhampton Wanderers not to be playing their football in the Premier League next season, with Nuno Santo’s men storming to automatic promotion alongside Cardiff City.

Admittedly the Portuguese has been helped by the deep pockets of the club’s Chinese owners, but Santo scoured Europe and the globe to discover the talent required to ensure his side met expectations, and the former Porto boss must be applauded for his work.

With his transfer war chest set to be bursting at the seams once again, Santo will go on a spending spree never before seen at Molineux, with Premier League money set to swell the coffers.

The Black Country side will be linked with a number of Europe’s top stars due to their close relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes, and this trio could emerge as realistic targets in the summer months…

Known in footballing circles simply as ‘Alan’, the prolific Brazilian could be open to a return to European football following an excellent and lucrative spell in the Chinese Super League.

Scoring at a rate of almost a goal every other game in the Far East, the player has continued the fine goal scoring form he exhibited in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg, whom he helped dominate the domestic league as well as make inroads into European competition.

The 28-year-old has had his spell in Asia and may be open to testing himself in the Premier League, and with that man Mendes the man conducting affairs behind the scenes, a move to a newly promoted Wolves side to kick off their top-flight return is a distinct possibility in the summer transfer window.

The midfielder has been exceptional in La Liga this season as Valencia have stunned pundits to mount a push for Champions League football but will return to Italy with Inter Milan when his season-long loan spell at the Mestella ends in the summer.

A top player, the five-time French international has an outside chance of making the squad that travels to Russia for the World Cup in June and Santo will surely be monitoring the player’s situation with his parent club.

Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly also keeping tabs on Kondogbia but Wolves have a genuine chance of landing the box-to-box midfielder should their owners continue to pump money into the club.

One of the best in Europe, this would be a real coup for Wolves.

Picked up by Benfica from boyhood club Rosario in 2016, Cervi is exhibiting all the sings of becoming a top winger in the European game.

The 23-year-old is one of the most consistent player’s in the Portuguese top flight, with his tally of combined goals and assists into double figures despite the player being relatively early in his development in European football.

Santo has strong ties to Portugal and could look to raid the arch-rivals of former side Porto to snatch the winger, who looks ready to make the step to the Premier League.

Still relatively unheard of outside of the southern European nation, Cervi should represent a reasonably affordable option with the potential to become a star at Molineux.
