Although Brentford’s Premier League dream appears to have reached its close following a short poor run that has seen the club fall away from the play-off places, Bees fans will be relative content with the performance of their side this term.

Disappointment will however be an underlying theme given that Dean Smith’s side have thrown away points from winning positions on a regular basis and dominated games that they have either lost or been held to a draw, with this something the former Walsall boss must address ahead of the new campaign.

With ground set to break on a new stadium imminently and the club in the best position in its history, those who follow the West London side will take a comfortable top half finish once again and dream of the top flight ahead of the new campaign.

If Brentford want promotion, they must consider pursuing deals for this trio…

Brentford have dominated games this season but often lacked that killer instinct in front of goal that separates the best from the rest, and that glaring problem could be addressed by the acquisition of Marriott.

The Peterborough striker has scored goals for fun in League One this year and will be in high demand when the transfer window opens for business once again.

The Bees aren’t known to open the check book on a regular basis but with money surely in the bank from the sales of the likes of Scott Hogan, James Tarkowski and Andre Gray, perhaps the board that has already done so much for its loyal fans owe them one more favour with a big money signing.

Whether the club’s budget will stretch to the unknown fee that Peterborough will demand remains to be seen, but Marriott could be that all-out goal scorer that finally secures the club promotion, or at least a second play-off finish.

Brentford aren’t immune to picking up an unpolished lower league gem following the acquisitions of Ollie Watkins and the aforementioned Gray, with 23-year-old Eisa the latest star who looks ready to make the step up to Griffin Park.

Eisa joined Cheltenham Town in the summer from non-league Greenwich Borough and is certain to break the twenty-goal mark in the league.

Powerful, quick and deadly in front of goal, Eisa shares a lot of traits with Gray who now plays in the Premier League with Watford, something the Bees have perhaps lacked in front of goals since Gray left for Burnley several years ago.

Young defender Ilias Chatzitheodiridis is on loan with the Robins and should expect boss Smith to bend his ear about the striker upon his return to the club, with scouts sure to be running the rule over a player who would have a bargain price tag upon his head.

The Dutch Eredivisie is a competitive division which Brentford have raided in the past with Kamohelo Mokotjo the latest man to make the move across the Channel and the league’s top scorer Fran Sol will surely be catching the attentions of the Griffin Park side.

Leading the charts despite playing for minnows Willem II, Sol has fought off the competition of top players from the traditional powerhouses including Ajax, PSV and current champions Feyenoord and appears ready to make the transition across to the English game.

Smith already grabbed Denmark’s top scorer in Emiliano Marcondes and if he can add Spaniard Sol to his arsenal alongside the Dane and in-form Neal Maupay, then Brentford will be able to boast one of the league’s deadliest strike forces.

Bees fans, thoughts?
