Sheffield United finished the season with a flourish last weekend, beating Bristol City 3-2 at Ashton Gate to secure a 10th place finish in the Championship.

On the face of it, finishing in the top ten in the second tier was not bad considering the Blades were only just promoted from League One last season.

But after competing for promotion all year, it was a disappointing end to the campaign.

The fans will be looking ahead to next season and hoping for an improvement but some things need to be addressed now that the Championship year is over.

There are some issues ongoing at the club right now and these need to be sorted as soon as possible so that Sheffield United can turn a corner and look upwards next year, rather than slide back down the table.

Here are three issues that the club need to sort out as soon as they can this summer.

There is a stand-off behind the scenes are the moment and it is frustrating both the manager and the fans.

Kevin McCabe and HRH Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud both hold a 50 per cent stake in the club and their relationship has broken down.

Like two aggrieved parents going through a divorce, McCabe and Abdullah are both trying to get sole ownership of the club.

And just like as the child would be the loser in the divorce analogy, Sheffield United is definitely the one suffering from this dispute.

The ongoing dispute between the owners has led to doubts over Chris Wilder's future.

Wilder is a lifelong Sheffield United fan and he has exceeded all expectations by immediately winning promotion from League One and competing for promotion in the Championship.

Sheffield United need him to stay but he has publicly expressed doubts over his future at Bramall Lane due to the ownership problems.

Sunderland are lurking and Sheffield United could lose him if they are not careful - this needs to be sorted as soon as possible!

Now that Sheffield United have re-established themselves as a Championship club, they need to get rid of some of the peripheral players from their League One days.

The likes of Jake Wright, Samir Carruthers, James Hanson, Ched Evans, Clayton Donaldson, Chris Hussey, Caolan Lavery and Danny Lafferty need to be offloaded if potential suitors are found.

Some of these players are out of contract but others need to be sold.

If the Blades can flog these players, it frees up some wage space to bring in better quality additions.
