Wolverhampton Wanderers’ title charge is firmly back on track, following last night’s comprehensive 3-0 victory over Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship.

Goals from Romain Saiss and Willy Boly put Wolves in full control of the contest in the first-half, before Benik Afobe sealed an impressive 3-0 victory for Nuno Espirito Santo’s champions-elect.

Leeds failed to live with Wolves’ power at Elland Road, and even without the influential Ruben Neves in midfield, Nuno’s side bossed the game from start to finish.

Whilst it was a grim evening for the hosts, Wolves’ supporters will have been delighted with what was one of their most impressive away performances this season.

It was the complete away performance from Nuno’s side, who have now reopened a six-point lead at the summit of the Championship table.

Here at FLW, we look at THREE things we learnt from Wolves’ impressive performance at Elland Road…

Neves is a big part of why Wolves are at the top of the table, but when he hasn’t been in the team this season Nuno’s side have struggled.

However, Saiss and Alfred N’Diaye bossed the midfield last night, and although Leeds’ duo looked out of their depth, Nuno will have been pleased with the impact his pair had.

Neves will come back into the starting XI, but last night proved they could manage without him.

A lot has been made of Neves, Diogo Jota and Ivan Cavaleiro this season, but Boly is the glue that holds Wolves’ side together.

Defensively, the 27-year-old is superb and last night he was at the top of his game.

Boly won everything in the air and his composure on the ball was magnificent.

A goal topped off a memorable evening for the defender.

Leo Bonatini looked good and caused Leeds problems, but failed to take his chances.

Afobe entered the contest during the second-half and scored a magnificent goal to wrap up the victory.

The finish from the on-loan AFC Bournemouth striker showed what he is all about, and should have given him the confidence to score plenty more during the run-in.
