It was a grim evening for Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship last night, with Paul Heckingbottom’s side suffering a heavy defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road.

Leeds’ hopes of play-off football this season have been left in tatters, with Wolves rubbing salt in that wound last night, picking up three points thanks to a 3-0 victory.

Goals came from Romain Saiss, Willy Boly and Benik Afobe for Wolves, as Leeds were taught a cruel lesson by the Championship’s leaders.

Heckingbottom’s side never got close to the standard that Wolves set during the opening exchanges, and looked exhausted by the time the full-time whistle came, whilst their opponents barely got out of second gear.

It was a worrying night for Leeds, who got a view of how far away from challenging they are.

Here at FLW, we look back on a disappointing night for the Whites and identify THREE things we learnt…

Vurnon Anita really struggled against Ivan Cavaleiro last night, and Leeds' problems at left back aren't going away.

Gaetano Berardi and Laurens De Bock have both featured there on occasion this season, but Leeds are lacking some serious balance to their defence.

Heckingbottom needs to address this problem sooner, rather than later.

Radrizzani has done so much right at Leeds, but his rant at Wolves’ spending following last night’s defeat was a poor move.

Leeds haven’t got the same spending power as Wolves, we know that much, and whilst there are issues with the way the Molineux club have recruited, Radrizzani shouldn’t be taking to Twitter to discuss them.

Radrizzani is pointing the finger, when he needs to be addressing the problems at his own club.

Peacock-Farrell might’ve conceded three goals last night, but without his smart saves in the first-half it could’ve been embarrassing for Leeds.

The 21-year-old’s distribution and communication were also good, and now is the time for Heckingbottom to hand the goalkeeper an extended run in the team.

A shining light on a grim evening for Leeds.
