Norwich City’s first year under Daniel Farke was one of transition in the Sky Bet Championship, with no real pressure put on the division’s play-offs.

The Canaries finished the season in 14th, 15 points adrift of the top-six.

The season ended on a sour note, with a 5-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, however, many accepted that Farke’s first year in English football was always going to be a difficult one.

Next season, though, there will be more expectancy at Carrow Road, even if Norwich are at risk of losing star man, James Maddison.

Maddison could well depart this summer, with a host of high-profile clubs chasing the midfielder’s signature.

Losing the 21-year-old will make Norwich’s task in the Championship next season difficult.

With that in mind, we look at Maddison’s situation and other things – identifying THREE other problems facing Farke and Norwich this summer…

Maddison was so influential last season, and should he leave, he’s going to take some replacing.

Farke will be looking to replace goals and assists, which is going to be extremely difficult to do without breaking the bank.

Of course, Norwich will have money from Maddison’s potential sale, but they won’t want to pay over the odds.

Like Maddison, Murphy will attract interest in the summer, albeit not from the same level of clubs.

Farke can’t afford to lose Maddison and Murphy this summer, he has to retain at least one’s service.

Right now, it looks like that will have to be Murphy.

Norwich can’t afford to lose the winger.

Gunn impressed in goal for Norwich last season, but has now returned to Manchester City.

Leeds United have shown an interest in signing Gunn on a season-long loan, with Norwich set to face plenty of competition in the race to sign the goalkeeper this summer.

It’s a problem for Farke.
