With the Premier League hosting some of the best talents in the world, the chance for youngsters to grace the first teams are few and far between.

Of course, there are some examples of players who are able to break through and have success. Marcus Rashford, for example, was given the chance in the first team of Manchester United and impressed beyond expectations.

As well, the emergence of Dele Alli is just a hint at what tremendous talent is yet to be found in the Football League. The midfielder was playing League One football last season and this summer he is starting for England at EURO 2016 - something he could have only dreamt of a year ago.

As a result, Football League fans will be keen to find the talent they so dearly need in order to mount a push for promotion next season.

A team perhaps in need of an injection of energy and excitement is Portsmouth. They suffered an agonising end to the season as they conceded a late goal to Plymouth - subsequently missing out on a trip to Wembley.

And, although Paul Cook will argue otherwise, spirits will undoubtedly be low heading into the next campaign after such a disappointing end to the campaign.

What is more, the injection of huge amounts of money at the top of the English football means that youngsters are more than often loaned out to lower league clubs.

Here are THREE Premier League wonder kids who could excel at Portsmouth...

Ryan Kent

The Liverpool winger has appeared just once for the senior side since joining the club in March 2015.

He was shipped out to Coventry for the most part of last season to try and gain some experience in the Football League. However, he was then recalled to be assessed by Jurgen Klopp in early November.

Klopp showed faith in the winger by starting him in an FA Cup tie versus Exeter City. Despite this, he was substituted after just 57 minutes.

Nevertheless, Kent is a dynamic winger who was the ability to beat the defenders as well as play on both wings. That versatility could prove of worth to Pompey if they could secure the youngster. But, the question is, will he be willing to drop to League Two in order to ignite his career.

Oliver McBurnie

At the age of 20, McBurnie is desperate to knuckle down at a club and prove just how good he is.

Swansea City signed the young striker in 2015 but he is yet to play for the Welsh side. Instead, he has been loaned out to both Newport County and most recently Bristol Rovers.

The tall striker netted a hat trick on his debut at Newport County and will begin to count himself familiar with English football's bottom tier.

Pompey could look to sign the youngster who has bags of pace as well as tricky footwork.

Joe Williams

After working his way through the academy at Everton, Williams signed a three year contract with the Toffees in 2014.

Since then, he has only appeared on the bench for the first team once. Despite that, his development as a player has shown that he could impress in League Two.

In the centre of the park, he is a tough-tackling midfielder with the ability to pick out a pass as well. Therefore, Pompey might look at Williams to add an injection of youth and energy to their midfield before the 2016/17 season kicks off in August.
