Leeds United are back on track in the Sky Bet Championship after an impressive 1-0 win at promotion rivals Sheffield United at the weekend.

The Whites have won their last three games, after going on a run of just two wins in seven games as Marcelo Bielsa's men slipped outside of the automatic promotion places.

But Leeds are back to their best and find themselves sitting just one point off table-toppers Norwich City - with a hugely important few months ahead.

It's clear that the Whites need strengthening in January - their ongoing injury list has been their Achilles heel this season, and Bielsa's men need squad depth if they are to cement their place at the top of the table.

Leeds have the perfect blend of youth and experience in their squad, and here, we take a look at three Premier League veterans that Leeds should be targeting in January...

Leeds have recently been linked with the signing of Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente and he should be on the top of Bielsa's January wish-list.

Llorente is no stranger to the Argentinian, having managed the powerful forward at Athletic Bilbao, where he played an integral role in the Spanish side's Europa League campaign in 2012, where they lost 3-0 in the final to Atletico Madrid.

A renowned goalscorer across Europe over the last few years, Llorente would offer the Whites a different dimension up top, and his experience and knowhow up front could be invaluable in Leeds' push for promotion.

With Bailey Peacock-Farrell their only remaining senior shot-stopper, the Whites could really do with another addition in between the sticks.

United have seemingly failed in trying to land Burnley's Tom Heaton and Birmingham's David Stockdale on emergency deals over the last month or so, however one option they are yet to explore is Fraser Forster.

The Southampton shot-stopper has become surplus to requirements at St. Mary's Stadium and has failed to make an appearance for the Saints this season.

At 6-foot-7, he'd add real presence and solidarity to the Leeds back-line, and with plenty of experience under his belt, he'd be a good mentor for Peacock-Farrell.

Leeds have been hit with an injury crisis of late, with defender Liam Cooper joining Luke Ayling on the sidelines, after sustaining what has been described as a "serious" injury by Marcelo Bielsa.

It's clear that Leeds need defensive reinforcements in January if they are to withstand the gruelling environment of the Championship, and Gary Cahill could be a perfect addition at Elland Road.

He's become surplus to requirements at Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri and could be available on perhaps a loan deal in January - this is an option that Leeds should definitely explore
