Middlesbrough currently sit in fourth place in the league and are playing well in the Championship.

They are one of the Bookies favourites to get promoted to the Premier League this season.

Karanka’s team were just one win away from being back in the highest tier last season, but were comfortably beaten by Norwich City in the Play off Final at Wembley in May to narrowly miss out.

Boro have been a constant threat for the past couple of seasons in the Championship and have already brought in some Premier League starlets in the summer, such as Stewart Downing from West Ham and David Nugent from Leicester City to bolster their striking options.

Here is THREE Premier League starlets that could push them over the line into that automatic spot in May.....

Patrick Bamford

Bamford was phenomenal at the Riverside last season and when he returned to Chelsea, he was hoping to fight for a place in the Blues side.

Mourinho felt that he was not ready for a first team spot at Stamford Bridge and was loaned out to Crystal Palace. Bamford made a promising start for the South East London side as he bagged himself a hat trick in their pre season friendly against Bromley in the summer.

Since then, Bamford has not had a chance to impress Pardew and has hardly moved off the subs bench.

Boro should cut short Bamford’s torrid loan deal at Palace and make Chelsea an offer that they cannot refuse. There would be no risk’s for Boro, Bamford is a proven goal scorer at the Riverside and his goals helped them reach the play-offs last season.

Harrison Reed

Southampton are renowned for bringing young talent from their academy and Reed is definitely one of those players.

The young central midfielder has only played in Southampton’s Europa League games and is yet to appear for the Saints in the Premier League this season.

Boro could be the team to blossom him into a proven Premier League star. He would make a great partnership with Grant Leadbitter and his tenacious playing style could be force to be reckoned with.

Fraizer Campbell

Even though Middlesbrough have Nugent, Kike and Stuani up front.

I still think they need a poacher in that side.

If the Bamford deal couldn’t go through, then their second option should be this Crystal Palace player.

Campbell is hard worker and you can always rely on him to get into that six yard box to score goals.

The former Cardiff City man is also a proven Championship scorer after the Bluebirds signed him in their promotion season in 2013/2014, where he scored seven goals in 12 appearances for the club.

Middlesbrough fans…. Do you think these 3 players could do a job for you? Would you like to Bamford back at the Riverside? Let us know in your comments below!
