Tom Lawrence has certainly thrived under the watchful eye of Frank Lampard, emerging this season as one of the key men at Derby County.

The Welsh international always had potential, proving that during his Ipswich Town loan spell, but he's looking increasingly able to step up to the Premier League. That might be with Derby County, but it also might come during a January raid.

There's no firm interest being reported as yet, but whenever the window opens anyone seems fair game.

Someone such as Huddersfield or Crystal Palace might have a list of targets, but as time trickles away they arrives at the name of Tom Lawrence on their list. Things move fast and Derby must be ready.

There are all manner of players they could replace him with, out of favour top flight stars, current Championship stars and those emerging from lower down. Lampard needs to get it right though, he can't afford a transfer miss.

Here's FLW's suggestion of three who might fit the bill.

It might be a big spend, but if Derby are serious about promotion to the top flight, then they would be wise to spend big on Dack.

He's going to be a top class player and will doubtless be in the Premier League next season if nobody makes a move in January.

I'm not sure about him being a Lawrence replacement though, he's more like an improvement.

Potts might not offer the threat through the middle, but Lawrence operates out wide too and there the Barnsley man would thrive.

He's been excelling for the Tykes in League One and will be right at the top of many scout's lists right now.

Powell will surely be leaving Wigan this winter, if not certainly in the summer. He's served his time there and is ready for the next step.

He's an attacking midfielder who would suit the Derby style well and could learn plenty from Lampard too.

It would be an interesting fit and quite a coup if Derby could pull it off.
