Brentford striker Scott Hogan is one of the most sought after players in the English game.

The Bees have turned down bids in the region of £10m for the 24-year old, from West Ham and fellow Championship side Reading.

Brentford are hoping to sell the forward for £15m, and do not appear to be budging from their valuation of the player who has netted 14 times this season.

If the London club were to sell their biggest asset they would leave themselves with a handsome transfer pot.

Here is a look at THREE players they could sign if Hogan leaves...

Ross McCormack

Aston Villa striker McCormack has found opportunities limited this season, starting just 12 games for the Midland’s side. Having been bought by Roberto Di Matteo in the summer, the Scottish international hasn’t been involved as much under new manager Steve Bruce.

McCormack has found the net just three times this term, but his reputation in the Championship is still strong. The ex-Cardiff, Leeds United and Fulham forward has scored 115 goals in the division across his career, including 28 in the 2013/14 season with Leeds.

Villa boss Bruce may be reluctant to lose McCormack in January, having already lost Rudy Gestede to Middlesbrough and Jonathan Kodja expected to join up with the Ivory Coast for the African Cup of Nations.

However a hefty bid from Brentford could persuade Villa to sell.

Jordan Rhodes

Rhodes has great status in the Championship. Last season he helped Middlesbrough to promotion- scoring six goals in 18 appearances, post his January switch from Blackburn Rovers.

The step up to the Premier League has not worked out for Rhodes, who has featured just six times for Boro this season. The Teesside club has just captured Rudy Gestede from Aston Villa, which could see Rhodes fall further down the pecking order, having already lost his place in the side the Alvaro Negredo.

Rhodes could be available during the January transfer window, however, he would also require a hefty transfer fee. But with Hogan’s asking price, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Patrick Bamford

Bamford is currently on-loan at Premier League side Burnley, from league leaders Chelsea. However, the striker could be available in January having only made five substitute appearances so far this season.

The 23-year old is yet to make a competitive start for his parent club, and has found himself on-loan at a number of sides over the last four seasons. Perhaps his best spell away from Chelsea came at Middlesbrough, where Bamford scored 19 goals and received the Championship player of the year award.

With his current loan deal not going quite to plan with Burnley, it is highly likely Chelsea will be looking for another club willing to offer Bamford regular game time.

If Hogan is to leave Brentford, Bamford could be a good short-term option.
