It seemed inevitable, but on Tuesday Fulham ace Moussa Dembele finally moved on from the club.

Scottish champions Celtic was the destination, but Brendan Rodgers will need to pay a development fee for the 19-year old. This will mean some more cash available for Slavisa Jokanovic to spend, and Shahid Khan has already promised to free up some funds for the ex-Watford boss.

On the other side of a transfer embargo and with star man Ross McCormack looking likely to follow Dembele out of the exit door, it looks like a striker might be a priority this summer. Last season, it was their amazing attacking line-up that fired them to safety, so they will need to do well if they're going to emulate that this season.

They will need to act quickly, as the Cottagers are the first team playing in the new season, at home to Newcastle on Friday 5th August. They also travel to Preston, Leeds and Blackburn in August, as well as a home game against Cardiff.

Here, in the opinion of FootballLeagueWorld writer Ryan Evans, is THREE potential replacements for the Frenchman:

James Wilson

After spending last season at Brighton, the Manchester United striker is set to go back on loan to the Championship this summer. And whilst all the papers are saying Aston Villa is most likely, Fulham should be paying attention.

The 20 year old couldn't get into the first team on a regular basis, scoring five in 27 appearances for the club, but appeared as a substitute more often than he started.

There's no doubting his talent, as he shown with the last minute equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Derby that sent the promotion race to the final day.

Wilson does actually have a decent record at United, with three goals in 15 appearances.

Connor Wickham

The 23-year old has played for Ipswich and Sunderland before his £7 million move to Crystal Palace last summer, but it hasn't worked out all to well for him.

He made just 24 appearances this season, scoring six during that time and setting up three - and wasn't really given much of a chance with just 14 starts as a central striker.

He scored 11 in 74 and 13 in 65 for the Black Cats and Tractor Boys respectfully, and if Jokanovic can cure his inconsistency, he could be off to a winner.

Nahki Wells

The Huddersfield frontman broke onto the English football stage in 2012-13, scoring 18 goals in 39 games for Bradford City as they won promotion from League Two. 14 in 19 goals in the next season earned him a move to the Championship, scoring seven more in that campaign.

Since then, he hasn't taken the Terriers to the heights he would have liked, and a move on could be coming. He scored 17 last season which put him amongst the league's highest scorers, so would be a great replacement for Dembele.

The Bermudan is very good technically, and also is a good free-kick taker. He would link up well with Tom Cairney, and if McCormack was to stay at the club, they would form a formidable duo that could leave the Fulham fans drooling ahead of next season.
