QPR last night relieved manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink of his duties at Loftus Road, with the club becoming increasingly frustrated at the lack of progress.

The R's managed a point at struggling Nottingham Forest in an improved second half display, but it was not enough to save the Dutchman from the axe last night.

Attentions will now turn to who takes over from him, with a host of names already mentioned and a flurry of bets already being laid.

As usual there are the early favourites and the long shots, but the club will no doubt have a firm idea in mind who they fancy bringing in after taking the decision to remove Hasselbaink.

Here, FLW writer Lee Connor looks at THREE potential replacements for Hasselbaink...

Nigel Pearson

A man who gets mentioned every time a job becomes available in the Championship, Pearson is a proven gaffer despite his recent blip with Derby County.

Pearson would definitely turn heads and divide opinion, although a move down to London might not be too high on his agenda.

However, he is a man who gets things done in the Championship and should definitely be considered.

Tim Sherwood

The man who is favourite to take the job and seemingly very likely to be up for the job, Sherwood has been waiting to get back into the game since being axed by Aston Villa.

The former Spurs midfielder certainly knows how to ruffle a few feathers in the camp, which might be something needed at Loftus Road.

If Sherwood was to come in he would need all his motivational skills and passion to turn things round. However, if one man can do it, then it might well be Sherwood.

Paul Clement

Another name linked with the job is former Derby man Paul Clement.

Clement was somewhat harshly relieved of his duties last season as Rams manager, and has been out of management since. He does however always have a job with Carlo Ancelotti, so is hardly under pressure to get into management again quickly.

However, it might well be a project which interests Clement, and he is certainly a name to consider. Clement would need time to implement his own style though, which is something R's managers are not always give.
