Kalvin Phillips has been a player reborn under the management of Leeds boss, Marcelo Bielsa, and he will be hoping to keep hold of the youngster with the January transfer window approaching.

The 22-year-old has started every league game this season for Leeds as they mount a serious challenge for promotion this season, with many fans dreaming of a return to the Premier League after a lengthy spell out of the top-flight.

Phillips has been used as a defensive midfielder for large parts of the season and is thriving under Marcelo Bielsa, but he has been forced to change his role in recent weeks.

He has been forced to play as a makeshift centre back in recent games, with injuries to defenders Luke Ayling, Gaetano Berardi and most recently, Pontus Jansson.

So Phillips is likely to play a crucial part in their promotion bid this season and if Leeds are to cash in on the midfielder, then fans would be keen to see the money reinvested in January.

But what potential replacements could Marcelo Bielsa be looking at in January?

Find out here....

The Huddersfield central midfielder has been injured for large parts of this season and he may struggle to get back into David Wagner's starting XI.

Williams faces stiff competition from the likes of Phillip Billing and Jonathan Hogg so his first-team opportunities may be limited this season.

If he can rediscover the form that made him a fans favourite at Reading, then he could be the missing piece in the jigsaw for Leeds in their promotion push.

The young Leicester midfielder would most likely be available on a loan deal in January.

The 21-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the Foxes this season and he will surely be searching for a move to further his development at such a young age.

Choudhury can play either in the centre of the midfield or in the CDM role so he would be the perfect replacement for Phillips if he was to depart from Elland Road in January.

Middlesbrough's summer signing has struggled to settle in that Championship club since joining from Sunderland.

He has been restricted to just two starts all season under Tony Pulis which he will be frustrated with.

He could be available on a loan in January in order to find regular game time, and he would suit well with Leeds as they are needing cover in midfield and in defence with the injuries mounting up in Bielsa's side.
