Birmingham City returned to winning ways on Wednesday night with a 2-0 win against Millwall at the Den, bouncing back impressively after a 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa last weekend.

The win was the club's first in three matches and reignited hopes of a playoff push, lifting them up into 10th place on 27 points, just four outside the top-six.

Monk's side have been in impressive form this season, losing just four times all season and going on a 10 game unbeaten run that previously saw them break into the playoffs before the recent run of poor form.

One man who is yet to play any part of the Blues' campaign is once first-choice goalkeeper David Stockdale.

After falling out with Garry Monk in pre-season and being told to train with the under-18s, he has been sent out on loan, first to Southend United and then Wycombe Wanderers.

Birmingham recently brought him back to the club from the Chair Boys but he is expected to be out of St. Andrews by the time January rolls around.

Here, then, are three possible destinations for him...

Marcelo Bielsa was keen to bring Stockdale in during the summer but could not strike a deal with the Blues.

With the situation deteriorating further, however, and with Jamal Blackman's season being ended by a broken leg a deal could well be back on.

Dean Smith will be eager to bring in a reliable shot-stopper in January.

Burnley's Tom Heaton appears to be the front-runner at the moment, but if that were to fall through, Stockdale would be a very adequate option and would not require him to move.

The big question would be whether the Blues would do a deal with their rivals.

The Owls will be unable to spend money on transfers in January so bringing in Stockdale on loan could be the best option for them.

Jos Luhukay has had a tricky time with his goalkeepers with Keiren Westwood somewhat ostracised, whilst Joe Wildsmith and Cameron Dawson fight for the number one shirt.

It would not be a surprise to see him move for a 'keeper.
