It is safe to say that Marcelo Bielsa has done a brilliant job during his short time as manager of Leeds United.

The Whites currently sit in second place, level on points with table-toppers Norwich City, and three points clear of third-placed Sheffield United.

Performances have been far better than any fan could ever have dreamed of and the chances of playing Premier League football for the first time in 15 years looks like a very real possibility.

But there is still a long way to go, and Leeds fans will have been concerned to hear centre-back and fan-favourite Pontus Jansson talk about how the club's training sessions make him feel tired on matchdays.

The clubs head of medicine and fitness also came out and called Bielsa's approach to football 'unhealthy', a key cause of the clubs numerous injury concerns this seasons.

It may be enough to persuade the Argentinian to make a change to his style.

But here are THREE potential consequences if he does not...

Burn out

It has happened before with Bielsa's sides and is an issue that many pundits have talked of since the club's fast start.

He has always liked to play with a smaller squad throughout his career but never within the context of a demanding Championship season.

Even if no more serious injuries are incurred, there is a real chance that their abilities to carry out Bielsa's style will simply fizzle away.

Major squad issues

Bielsa has coped fairly well with the injury problems thrown at him so far this season but there is only so far his squad can stretch.

If players continue to drop out injured he will eventually run out of utility players, such as Stuart Dallas, to slot into other positions as well as promising youth team members to bring through.

Promotion achieved emphatically

Of course, not all possible consequences will be negative.

As mentioned above, Bielsa has taken injury blows with barely a flinch so far and there is no reason he cannot continue to do so for the rest of the season.

If he can maintain his current style without issue, which looks unlikely, then surely they will be promoted with ease.
