Following Chris Ramsey's sacking last week, QPR are on the lookout for a new manager.

Since the sacking, Neil Warnock has taken charge on an interim basis despite being introduced as 'first team advisor' two weeks before. We could all see the sacking coming as their poor league form slipped them into 17th place in the Championship.

Warnock was in charge on Saturday and oversaw a 0-0 home draw to Preston North End, the man who was sacked by chairman Tony Fernandes in 2012.

QPR need change and they need it fast if they are going to gain promotion as they already see themselves 14 points off the pace.

So, here are THREE potential candidates who could replace Ramsey on a permanent basis.....

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

Regarded as one of the favourites, Hasselbaink has really impressed during his time at Burton Albion and has taken them to a new level.

When the Dutchman arrived in 2014, he took over a team that had just finished in 5th place in League 2 having failed twice in the final step of playoff success. In his first season with the club, he achieved the league title - a dream start to his managerial career in England.

Now, into his second season with the club, Burton see themselves in 2nd place in League 1 with the tightest defence in the league, only conceding 13 goals after 16 games.

Hasselbaink has taken his role by storm and it is worth noting, this is his first managerial job in England.

Although, I feel the move would be a risk. He's doing well with Burton and they look good for consecutive promotions. Going to QPR could be a bad idea.

At Burton, he currently has an impressive win percentage of 60%.

Neil Warnock

This is probably the most obvious candidate. Warnock was only appointed a first team advisor two weeks before being the interim manager and I'm sure he was eyeing the job, despite declaring he isn't interested in full-time management.

When Warnock was in charge of QPR last time around, he did well. Although, he hasn't done much since. Following QPR, he was appointed boss of Leeds United in February 2012.

Following a 14th place finish during the 2012/13 season, Warnock then revamped his squad in the summer. However, this didn't work as in April 2013 he parted company with the club.

Following a stint at Leeds, Warnock then took his post at Crystal Palace after the departure of Tony Pulis. Although, again, this didn't work out. He was sacked in December as Palace sat in the bottom three.

If Warnock was appointed there wouldn't be any 'settling in period' and the players would know exactly what's expected of them.

I could see Warnock being appointed, although it wouldn't be particularly inspiring.

Nigel Pearson

Nigel Pearson is another who has been talked about and is considered to be the favourite for the job. He has experience of the league and experience of winning the league - when he won the league in 2013/14 with Leicester.

If brought in, he would come with an attitude. An attitude players like Leroy Fer and Sandro would need to kick them into gear so we can see their true ability.

Although we now know why Pearson was sacked from Leicester (linked to his son's role in a sex tape when in Thailand on preseason), as a whole Leicester did pretty well on footballing terms.

He guided Leicester to 14th place in the Premier League with an impressive seven wins in his last nine games which helped to steer them clear of relegation.

Under his reign, he also secured the signings of Esteban Cambiasso, who impressed throughout the season, and Andrej Kramaric, who was wanted by Chelsea.

I feel Nigel Pearson would be a good appointment for QPR as I feel he could kick them on to promotion although he may be waiting for a Premier League opening.
