Middlesbrough are once again struggling after appearing to turn a corner a few weeks ago under Garry Monk in the Championship.

The men from the Riverside Stadium had looked as though they were going to start reeling in those at the top of the league a few weeks ago but they've embarked on another rut of form.

Indeed, it's either feast or famine at the moment for the Teesside club and there certainly needs to be some work done from Garry Monk quickly if he is to turn things around.

Some, though, might be thinking as though Monk's time at the club is nearly up and we have been thinking about what might happen if he gets sacked.

With that in mind, then, here are three managers we think Boro should go after if they decide to move the former Leeds United man on...

 Oscar Garcia

Garcia is a decent manager with a good reputation on the continent.

He has worked in England before in a role at Brighton and also did well with Red Bull Salzburg during his time there.

Things didn't work out as well as they could for St. Etienne as he was sacked earlier this season but he has good ideas and might be the risk needed for Boro to take to get back into the top flight.

 Simon Grayson

Grayson's stock took a hit during his time at Sunderland but, to be fair, many managers' would in that job.

We shouldn't forget the good work he has done at plenty of other places, then, with the likes of Preston and Leeds benefiting from his spells in charge.

Perhaps, with the extra money Boro could give him to spend, Grayson will be able to assemble a side capable of promotion rather than just punching above its weight.

Aitor Karanka

Remember him?

Karanka has been out of the job since he left Boro last season but has been linked with plenty of roles since then - with many in the Championship.

He certainly knows how to get teams out of the Championship and into the Premier League and perhaps he'd like to prove a point to the Boro board by going back.

We'll see.
