Ipswich Town remain bottom of the Championship and without a win after they battled back to earn a point against Brentford at Portman Road last night.

Whilst it was a decent result in isolation, the fact Paul Hurst's men still don't have a win is a major worry for all those connected to the Tractor Boys.

There was a lot of optimism around the club after Hurst replaced Mick McCarthy and the former Shrewsbury boss was backed quite significantly to strenghten his squad.

The 43-year-old primarily targeted lower league players but things haven't gone to plan yet.

Whilst eight games in charge is far, far too soon to judge Hurst as Ipswich boss, we know that in modern football you are never far away from the sack.

So, if things don't pick up quickly, he could find himself out the door at Portman Road.

Here we look at three potential replacements the heirarchy could consider...

Heckingbottom had a very difficult time at Leeds but there is massive expectation at Elland Road and moving to Ipswich would be similar to Barnsley.

He thrived at the Tykes, playing fast, high-intensity football with a young side. They won promotion to the Championship and stopped up under Heckingbottom's guidance and he could provide something similar with the Suffolk side.

If Ipswich wanted a safer, more experienced pair of hands then they could move for Grayson who has done well on the whole in the second and third tiers.

He wouldn't be the most exciting choice and probably wouldn't excite fans but he may have the know-how to keep the side up.

Without doubt this would be an ambitious move but landing Carvalhal would send a major statement.

The Portuguese coach was terrific in his first two years with Sheffield Wednesday and did well with Swansea in the Premier League even though they were relegated.

He is a great tactical coach, can organise his teams and would be a coup for Town.
