Saturday evening was disappointing for Leeds United, who were well beaten by West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.

Leeds entered the fixture on the back of a three-match unbeaten run, but were handed a 4-1 hammering by the Baggies, who were clinical on the break.

Hal Robson-Kanu, Matt Phillips, Harvey Barnes and Dwight Gayle took the game away from Leeds, with Pablo Hernandez’s looped header a small consolation for Leeds.

Bielsa’s side now head into the international break with plenty to think about, before they return to action later this month against Bristol City and Reading at Elland Road.

It will feel like a long two weeks for Leeds after such a heavy defeat.

There were plenty of negatives within Leeds’ performance, which was reflected in the reaction on social media.

However, there are positives to be taken from the game.

Here at FLW, we identify THREE…

Bielsa hasn’t been afraid to turn to Leeds’ academy this season, with his matchday squads often including a number of youngsters.

Leif Davis was an unused substitute on Saturday evening, with the teenager handed his first taste of a Championship matchday.

Although he didn’t get any minutes, it was good to see another youngster involved in Leeds’ travelling squad.

Saiz stepped off the bench during the late stages of the game, with the Spaniard setting up Hernandez’s goal.

It was Saiz’s third assist of the season and a sign of what he can bring.

Bielsa has left Saiz out of Leeds’ starting line-up recently, but his cameo was impressive and Leeds’ supporters will be hoping he can have a big impact at the end of the month.

Of course, we won’t know how the players will properly react until they take on Bristol City later this month, but the early signs have been good.

A lot of the players involved on Saturday were quick to take to social media to apologise and insist that there will be a reaction.

Amongst those was Barry Douglas, who described the defeat as a wake-up call.

Ahead of a crucial run into Christmas, a wake-up call could spark Leeds back to their best.
