Leeds fans will be dreaming of a return to the Premier League after a lengthy spell away from the top-flight, and they are certainly heading in the right direction this season.

Marcelo Bielsa's side are currently 3rd in the table and are just three points behind league leaders Norwich City, they will be confident they can close the gap on the Canaries before the New Year.

But after a dip in form in recent weeks, Leeds fans will be concerned that they are going to slip away from the promotion chasing pack, like they have done in previous years.

The Whites host Bristol City this weekend, where they will be hoping to move back into the automatic promotion places with a win at Elland Road.

The Leeds boss will be tempted to add some much-needed depth to his squad in January, with his injury list seemingly growing each week.

But which positions should Bielsa be looking at strengthening in January when the transfer window reopens?

Find out here....

The goalkeeping position at Elland Road has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell coming under fire.

The Northern Irish international has struggled to replicate his good forms shown in last seasons campaign and with the injury to Jamal Blackman, Marcelo Bielsa is surely looking to add some depth between the sticks in January.

Leeds have had their fair share of injuries this season, especially in defence.

Injuries to Pontus Jansson, Gaetano Berardi and Luke Ayling at this present time, mean that Marcelo Bielsa is limited in his defensive options heading into a busy festive period.

If they are to retain their place in the play-off positions this season, they it is vital that he adds some much-needed depth in the Leeds defence when the transfer window reopens.

This may come as a surprise to Leeds fans but they definitely need to strengthen their striking options in January.

There's no questioning that Kemar Roofe has been in excellent form this season, and he is likely to be one of the first names on the team-sheet for Bielsa.

But with second-choice striker, Tyler Roberts struggling to make an impact at Elland Road this season, Leeds could be tempted to sign a forward to challenge Roofe for his starting spot, which seems almost guaranteed at this present time.
