Brentford finally picked up their first league win of the season on Saturday with a comprehensive win at the hapless Bolton Wanderers, and manager Dean Smith’s men had hoped to continue his side’s winning run with victory over a Derby County side who had limped to a 1-1 draw with Birmingham at the weekend.

Despite dominating the game with 76% of possession, it was the same old story for the Bees as they failed to convert dominance into goals, and they only managed to scrape a draw following youngster Ollie Watkins’ late equaliser.

Full-debutant Joe Ledley had opened the scoring early on, and Brentford pressed for a full 70 minutes before Watkins found the back of the net.

Despite only picking up one win from their opening ten matches, the Bees have only lost four times, with a series of excellent performances failing to be turned into wins.

Fans took to Twitter to have their say on the result, with many adamant the three points should have gone to the home side…
