Wolves kick off 2016/17 at Rotherham United on Saturday, and will be hoping for a better season than their last campaign.

It has been a eventful summer at Molineux, with Fosun International completing the takeover of the club before relieving Kenny Jackett of his managerial duties. Following Jackett's departure, Italian Walter Zenga was put in charge.

Wolves have already added several new faces to their squad ahead of the new season.

Portuguese men Helder Costa and Silvio Sa Pereira have joined this summer, along with former Fulham goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.

They will be hoping to fight for promotion in this upcoming season, just like they did in 2014/15, when they narrowly missed out on the play-off places in their first season back in the Sky Bet Championship, finishing seventh.

Last season however was difficult for Wolves fans.

Star men Bakary Sako and Benik Afobe both left to join Premier League clubs, and Nouha Dicko suffered a nasty injury which ended his season. Then later on in the season, promising young talent Jordan Graham also suffered a bad injury that ruled him out for a long time.

Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Rob Booth identifies THREE players Wolves should loan in before their opening game of 2016/17...

Adam Armstrong

Wolves lost two of their magical front three last season, before the final member Dicko got injured, meaning they struggled to score goals.

Despite the return of Dicko, Wolves still need another striker to play alongside or even challenge Dicko for his place in the team, and Adam Armstrong could do just that.

Newcastle have spent big on players this summer, and have already signed striker Dwight Gayle. It's also rumoured that the Magpies want to bring in another frontman, which doesn't leave much room for Armstrong.

Armstrong proved himself in League One last season with Coventry, scoring 20 goals.

He'll be looking to keep improving as a striker, and he needs game time to do so, something he would get on loan at Wolves.

Krystian Bielik

Krystian Bielik is a young defensive midfielder who plays for Arsenal.

Conor Coady has been linked with a move away from Molineux, so Bielik could be a good replacement.

Nicknamed 'The New Patrick Viera', the Polish youngster has only made one Gunners appearance, which came in their 3-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday in last season's League Cup.

He signed for Arsenal in 2015 from Polish side Legia Warsaw, and would go some way to strengthening the middle of the park at Molineux.

Luke Garbutt

Luke Garbutt is a left back who is a product of the Everton youth academy.

Last season, he enjoyed a loan spell with Championship side Fulham, where he made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal.

Wolves are in need of a left back, since youngster Sylvain Deslandes is the only player in the squad who is a natural left-sided defender.

Garbutt is a highly-rated player and has also represented England at Under-21 level.
