After an excellent victory over Nottingham Forest, it has dispelled the concerns that Huddersfield could be drawn into a relegation battle.

With the arrival of David Wagner, Huddersfield have transformed into a club that is no longer treading water over the relegation zone but there is now genuine optimism for the fans to enjoy, and look forward to next season where Huddersfield will looking to be the surprise package.

The January transfer window was hit and miss for the West Yorkshire club.

Whereas most clubs strengthened, they were unable to obtain any of the four targets that they had identified and sensibly were unwilling to get involved in the ludicrous price wars, that some clubs resorted to out of desperation.

Despite that, the club did make some short term signings including Elvis Manu on deadline day designed to help the club in the second half the season.

There was also some departures with James Vaughan and Murray Wallace being the most notable two.

Although Huddersfield have one of the smaller squads in the Championship, David Wagner may still look to trim the squad in preparation for the summer.

William Boyle

One player that David Wagner should be looking to loan out is William Boyle.

The young centre-half has been at the heart of Huddersfield's Under-21 success, with the young side only losing three matches out of eighteen.

He has reached a point in his development where he may be looking to get regular first team football at a senior level.

He has featured for Huddersfield this season, coming on late against Preston but seemed to be out of his depth as he made a mistake that led to a late Preston winner.

David Wagner was quick to defend the young centre-half who will have been disheartened from the mistake, but Wagner will have learned that Boyle isn't at the point where he is a viable option for Huddersfield yet.

Boyle has already had three loan spells in the lower leagues at Kidderminster Harriers, Macclesfield Town and York City.

David Wagner may look to loan him out again so he can regular first team football, and develop him with a long term plan for him to break into the Huddersfield side.

David Wagner has a lot of experience working and developing young talent, and William Boyle is one that he will be closely keeping an eye on even when he is out on loan.

Boyle would be suited for another loan move to League Two with York City being a possible option for him to return to where he'd settle in quickly.

The club may wait until after the Under 21 Premier League cup where Huddersfield are a semi-finalist after an excellent run so far.

Lloyd Allinson

Another player that is desperately in need of loan move is Lloyd Allinson.

The young goalkeeper joined the West Yorkshire club from Ilkeston in 2011, however he hasn't featured for the club yet.

The 22- year-old will have been hopeful when Alex Smithies left the club that he would get an opportunity for the Terriers especially when Joe Murphy picked up an injury, but Huddersfield instead decided to use the loan market and bring in Jed Steer from Aston Villa, who has featured for Huddersfield over twenty times this season.

David Wagner may look to loan out the young goalkeeper so that he can get the regular first-team football, and match sharpness that he will need if he is to have any sort of impact at Huddersfield.

If Jed Steer joins the club in the summer which he may do then Lloyd Allinson might want to use a loan spell towards the end of the season, to put himself in the shop window and I think he might leave the club on a permanent basis if given the opportunity.

Ishmael Miller

The final potential player that could leave Huddersfield in the emergency loan window is Ishmael Miller.

Unlike the first two players, Ishmael Miller has experience and has been heavily involved in the Huddersfield Town first team since joining at the end of last season's January transfer window.

He joined on a short-term deal and made 16 appearances for the Terriers, earning himself a year extension but I highly doubt that it'll be extended again.

The experienced striker was linked to a deadline day move to Portsmouth but due to injuries and Huddersfield having a shortage of strikers, he stayed.

However with Hiwula returning from a loan spell at Wigan and Flo Bojaj an academy graduate featuring more than the striker, he is clearly not in favour with David Wagner.

It is understandable as Wagner's footballing philosophy is about 'full throttle football' based on speed and fluidity and Ishmael Miller unfortunately, provides neither as a traditional old school target man.

David Wagner may allow Miller to leave the club on loan in the emergency loan window and it could be a club that he joins permanently in the summer.

He would be an effective signing for a League 1 or League 2 club but he doesn't have the consistency or fitness needed to play regularly in the Championship for this Huddersfield side.
