Chris Hughton's men reaffirmed their status as promotion hopefuls, as four first-half goals gave them another valuable win over Leeds United on Tuesday night.

With just one defeat in their last eight games, the Seagulls will be hoping that they can continue to push the likes of Hull, Burnley and Middlesbrough for an automatic promotion place with 12 games left of the season.

The south coast club have many star players in their squad including last night's two-goal hero Tomer Hemed and French midfielder Anthony Knockaert.

There are also some players that aren't quite able to make it into the first team and Chris Hughton will have one eye on these players, as he scouts out those who have the potential for a bright future at the AMEX.

Richie Towell

Towell has only made one appearances for the Seagulls in the FA Cup defeat at Hull since his November move from Irish side Dundalk was confirmed on New Years Day.

The 24-year-old Dubliner was signed in the hope that he could make the step up to the Championship, after being named as the incumbent Irish PFA Player of the Year.

However Hughton has been reluctant to involve the youngster in league matches as he didn't even make the bench for Monday's 4-0 win over Leeds.

If he is going to improve as a player Hughton needs to give him first-team football which looks increasingly unlikely at the AMEX.

If he were to get a month's run of games for instance with a League One or Two team, he may come back rejuvenated and be able to play a more substantial role in the run-in.

Danny Holla

The Dutchman has fallen right down the pecking order this season under Hughton - making only league appearance for the Seagulls.

His last outing in an Albion shirt came in a 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Hull and with no cup games remaining it is unlikely that he'll feature for Brighton again this season.

Hughton gave his support to Holla for his professionalism amid what is a difficult spell in the 28-year-old's career.

The Dutchman missed out on a loan move in January as Hughton was reluctant to let the midfielder leave the club.

His contract will run out at the end of the season and you would think that for the sake of the club and the player that this will not be renewed.

However in that time, it would be useful for Holla to go out on loan to get some playing time under his belt and maybe prove to Hughton why he should be starting games for the Seagulls.

Casper Ankergren

The veteran shot-stopper has only made four league appearances for the Seagulls in the last three years and is yet to don a jersey for the club this campaign.

He's been with the club since 2010 after previously playing for Championship side Leeds, and helped Albion to get promoted from League One in his debut season.

However in recent years he has fallen out of favour at the club and will be fearing that his playing career could soon come to an end, if he isn't getting some regular matches in between the sticks.

An emergency loan is likely to be the best way out of the AMEX on a temporary basis, and I'm sure he would relish the chance to deputise at a club in the third of fourth tier if the opportunity arises.

Brighton fans - do you agree with my picks? Do you think that these players could all benefit from temporary loan spells? Are there any more players that you think should be offloaded in the loan window before it closes!
