Norwich City will begin life back in the Sky Bet Championship with a trip to Blackburn Rovers as they look to ensure a season spent challenging for a place back in the Premier League.

The Canaries were relegated last season after just one season in the top flight and the club has pledged their faith in Alex Neil being the man to take them back there once again.

Norwich will inevitably lose some players this summer following their relegation which is also likely to indicate that some new faces will arrive at Carrow Road, to aid their promotion bid.

With the nucleus of a good, young squad in place at the club it is likely that just a couple of quality additions will be enough to see them challenging at the right end of the Sky Bet Championship.

Football League World writer Lee Clarke takes a look at three new signings who could star in Norwich’s first game at Blackburn.

Aaron Tshibola

The Reading midfielder could make a summer switch to Norwich City from Reading, with a fee of £2 million being brandished around in various reports of late.

The youngster played 12 Championship games for the Royals last season and if he does sign for Norwich they would see him as a star in the making, with one eye cast towards the future.

With a glut of midfield talent already in place at Norwich, the 21-year-old could be thrown straight into first-team action alongside an experienced player such as Jonny Howson which will do Tshibola’s development no harm at all.

Patrick Bamford

The young striker was pretty disappointing during a loan spell at Norwich City during the back end of last season, although Premier League football is a completely different kettle of fish to the Championship.

Norwich boss Alex Neil might feel that Bamford can score the goals that fire the Canaries back to the promised land of the Premier League, and he could make a move to sign the striker once more.

There is little to doubt when it comes to the 22-year-old’s Championship credentials and any second tier side who secures his services will have a solid striker on their hands for next season.

Kieran Trippier

The 25-year-old full-back joined Tottenham Hotspur at the start of last season but managed just six first-team appearances last season.

After playing close to 150 games in three years at Burnley prior to his move to Spurs it is unlikely he will want to sit on the bench again this season, making a loan move away from White Hart Lane a distinct possibility.

Should the 25-year-old want to leave in order to play first-team football there would probably be Premier League interest. If Norwich can prove their ambition to reach the top flight next season however, then they could persuade a player of Trippier’s ilk to sign for the club.

Norwich City fans, would you welcome these players at the club? Can you see them performing well should they sign? Who else would you like to see start the first game at Blackburn?
