Marcelo Bielsa is hoping to make former England striker Jermain Defoe a Leeds United player, according to reports emerging this morning.

The 36-year-old former Spurs player is currently with Bournemouth in the Premier League, but he's turned out just six times this season and looks set for a move away from the south coast.

That has alerted a host of clubs, who see his natural talent and experience as the perfect addition to their ranks.

Leeds United have many young players emerging from the Under-23 set up and a swoop for Defoe would be to complement them and help their development.

It's likely to be a busy few weeks at Leeds, with the transfer window giving them the opportunity to patch up their injury-prone side and bring in cover to the problem areas.

Whilst Defoe appears on their list, he won't be the only player they bring in this winter.

Here are three more players we think could follow Defoe to Elland Road, should he make the move.

Gomez has been mentioned this season as a possible recruit and he'd be a big signing for Leeds.

There's every chance they'll look to bring in a wide player to replace Saiz, with La Liga-based Gomez high on the list of possible recruits.

Darlow is another who is sure to make the move to Elland Road from Premier League side Newcastle.

They need a keeper and he's been touted as a possible arrival. He's got lots of experience and they do need back up for Peacock-Farrell, or maybe even a replacement.

If Gomez does not arrive, then there's an outside chance Switzerland's World Cup star Steven Zuber will.

He's another linked with an Elland Road move, this time from German side Hoffenheim.

His capture would be a real coup for Leeds and could give them the push they need to get over the line and earn promotion.
