With football at a standstill and financial problems expected, we have taken a look into club’s summer transfer plans, identifying THREE players they could sell to recoup some funds.
Slaven Bilic will be eagerly anticipating football’s return to cement his side’s automatic promotion place, sitting second in the Championship as things stand.
The Baggies have had a solid season, leaning on the likes of Matheus Pereira, Grady Diangana, Jake Livermore and Romaine Sawyers to provide consistent and exciting form.
Whilst the West Brom squad overall is impressive, numerous changes will be forced on Bilic this summer, seeing a list of no less than four players end their loan deals.
Pereira, arguably the Midlands’ best player is expected to complete a permanent deal to the Hawthorns, but the exits of Diangana, Filip Krovinovic and Callum Robinson will prompt Bilic to look for replacements.
We have now identified THREE players that the Croatian manager could sell to recoup some funds for potential new players…
The experienced central defender has been in and out of the starting eleven this season, providing cover for Semi Ajayi and Kyle Bartley. A former regular at the Hawthorns, Hegazi is much loved by the club’s fans, but he could be sold this summer to bring in some transfer funds.
With a current market value of £3.15m, Bilic could look to that transfer fee to bring in some loanee’s or a permanent option.
The former Arsenal man has much experience and ability, but his injury problems have seen him miss a number of games this term.
Having previously had spells in the Premier League, Bilic could call on him next season, but with a market value of £2.88m, the Croat could also call time on his career with the Baggies.
At one point this season, you would not have considered selling Phillips. The former Blackpool winger has had patches of superb form for Bilic’s side this season, but his playing time has reduced significantly since January, when Callum Robinson was signed on loan from Sheffield United.
Phillips would seemingly relish a chance in the Premier League, but the 29-year-old is available for just under £5m, according to Transfermarkt.
