Reading have a club-defining summer transfer window ahead of them.

Financial Fair Play restrictions will be a very limiting factor as to what the Royals can do in this transfer window, with Reading needing to shift players out before they're able to bring any players into the club.

The majority of Reading supporters will want to bring back the majority, if not all of the loanees that joined the Berkshire side in the January transfer window.

Ovie Ejaria has been touted as a possible loan signing. However, Lewis Baker is 'unlikely' to come back to the Madejski Stadium, much to the disappointment of supporters on social media.

With the consideration FFP restrictions, as well as the contacts that Reading do have, the supporters will be wondering what signings Reading will actually be able to make this summer.

There are a few signings that Reading could make. Here's just three of them.

Matt Miazga

The American centre back was a rock at the back for Reading alongside Liam Moore in the second half of last season. His influence, along with the other four loanees signed in January's transfer window, helped the Royals maintain their Championship status.

The loan signing of Matt Miazga was seen as a temporary replacement for the outgoing Tiago Ilori, who left the club for Sporting Lisbon at the end of January. Many Royals fans have seen Miazga as an upgrade on Ilori, who was caught out of position numerous times during his two years with Reading.

Chelsea may be looking to offload fringe players this summer, with a breach of financial rules resulting in their two-window transfer ban. Miazga is just one of those many players, with the American nowhere near the first team squad at this moment in time.

If Reading can sell some players this summer, they may be able to bring Miazga in to the club as a first choice centre back alongside Liam Moore. Moore is currently Reading's only senior centre back at the club.

Saied Ezatolahi

Reading fans did not get a lot of chance to see Saied Ezatolahi, with the Iranian being ruled out for most of the season with injuries.

However, supporters were impressed with what they did see of the central midfielder, who was on loan from Russian side FC Rostov.

Ezatolahi is out of contract this summer and Jose Gomes would be wise to take the central midfielder on trial before making a decision on whether to sign him or not.

An Ezatolahi and Rinomhota midfield next season could provide defensive solidity to the Royals in midfield next season. It could also provide Andy Rinomhota with the license to bomb forward without the fear of leaving defensive gaps.

Although there would be split opinions on whether to sign Ezatolahi because of his injury record in Berkshire, this is a gamble that could really pay off for the Royals.

Eddie Nketiah (loan)

There are a number of possible striker departures this summer at the Madejski Stadium. This list includes Yakou Meite, Danny Loader, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, Sam Baldock and Marc McNulty.

This, combined with Nelson Oliveira going back to Norwich City after his loan deal expired, will make it essential that Reading make at least one signing in the striking department. Oliveira had a point to prove to Norwich City last season, which paid off for the Royals as his goals were vital to the Berkshire side's survival.

Eddie Nketiah would also have something to prove if he joins the Royals on loan in the summer. He'll be looking to send a message to Unai Emery, making his case for a place in the Arsenal first team squad.

The 19-year-old has also played for the England U21 team. His pace and scoring instinct will be needed at the Madejski Stadium next season if they do sign the teenager. His goals could make a huge difference to the Reading squad.
