Before the turn of the year, Derby were flying in the Championship, but recently they have stumbled as they try and maintain their push for promotion from England's second tier.

The Rams have won only once in the last six matches, they have not won so far this year and the dip in form have seen County slip from second to fifth in the table.

Paul Clement should be able to turn it around, but to instill fresh impetus into Derby's promotion drive, perhaps some fresh recruits arriving during this month's transfer window will do the trick.

Derby have been linked with numerous players and have secured three new players so far in January, Nick Blackman, Abdoul Camara and Marcus Olsson.

However there are still some targets we here at Football League World think Derby should sign this week - here is  a list of THREE players they should sign up......

Callum O'Dowda

Oxford United winger Callum O'Dowda has been linked with a move to Derby in this transfer window.

The League Two side are wanting in excess on £1million for the 20-year-old, who clearly has the ability to be playing at a much higher level.

His performances in League Two have attracted the attention of many clubs from higher up the football ladder, with the young winger putting in some dazzling displays for Oxford this season.

Ben Chilwell

Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell has made eleven appearances for the Foxes so far this season, and has been linked with a move to Derby during this month's window.

The 19-year-old left-back may possibly be allowed to leave on loan, and a top Championship side would be ideal for his football education.

Paul Clement would surely be keen on the player, as the young defender evidently has the ability to flourish in the second tier - having also impressed in a loan spell with Huddersfield.

Dwight Gayle

Palace striker has been sat on the side line for Crystal Palace this season, and Derby should be considering a loan move for the prolific forward, to end his current nightmare in London.

Gayle would add a goal threat for Derby which they seem to have lacked over recent games, and his presence would do Derby's bid for promotion no harm at all.
