Derby County recently made their second signing of the January transfer window with the capture of Reading striker, Nick Blackman.

Blackman joined on a three-and-a-half year deal from Reading, who was out of contract in the summer, having played 29 games for the Royals, scoring 13 goals.

Derby are sitting in second place in the Championship table, two points above third placed Hull City and four behind leaders Middlesbrough.

County have started a recruitment drive that they seemingly believe will see them over the line and gain promotion to English football's top-flight.

Paul Clement and his coaching staff will have drawn up a list of targets, for this January's transfer window which may well help see the Rams return to the Premier League.

So who else might be on Derby County's radar this January? We have short listed these THREE players that could follow Nick Blackman to Derby County this month.....

Ross McCormack

Derby County have been linked with the talented Fulham striker in this January transfer window, and it would be no surprise to see the Rams utilise their financial might to lure the ex-Leeds United striker to the iPro Stadium.

Fulham have put a £15 million price tag on McCormack, who has scored 15 goals this season, in a struggling Fulham side.

The talented forward would add to an already potent Derby attack and help score the goals necessary to make them a Premier League team again.

Calum O'Dowda

Calum is one of the gems of League Two football and is another player on the County radar this January.

The 20-year-old Oxford United winger has made as many headlines as team mate Kemar Roofe in the first half of the season, which have propelled Oxford into the top three of League two.

The £1 million pound asking price wont faze the Championship club as they seek, a Premier League promotion with a £100 million windfall.

O'Dowda has scored four goals and provided seven assists for the U's and looks to have the talent that can change any game - the step up to the Championship might not be as difficult for him as fans may fear.

Danny Williams

Former Reading team mate of new striker Nick Blackman, Williams could be another name on the Derby shopping list.

Williams, a USA international midfielder, will have caught the eye of many teams in the Championship with his energetic, passionate performances at the heart of the Royals' midfield.

Williams has made 27 appearances for the Royals, scoring four goals - and only has a number of months left on his current contract, so Brian McDermott may feel selling him now would be the best option.
