Swansea City are tenth in the current Championship table, not looking like an automatic spot is within their reach but still in the hunt for a play-off place.

They've tried a very different approach to bouncing back, as opposed to Stoke and West Brom they've not spent big at all. They let some stars go and have relied on fringe players from last season in the main.

It's worked relatively well, they're above Stoke but have taken on the persona of a Championship side, rather than a Premier League team looking to bounce back immediately.

Have they settled for their lot in the second tier? Perhaps for now, yes. Graham Potter looks to be building a team for the future, rather than hoping for a quick fix.

In January he'll be adding to the squad, but will be doing so in a measured, calculated way, spending little but hoping for rough diamonds and unheralded future stars to arrive.

FLW look at THREE players they could bring in this winter...

Bridcutt could be an excellent capture for the Swans. He's out of favour at Forest, wouldn't cost the earth, but has Championship quality running through him.

He'll be available on the cheap, that is almost certain, yet he has the potential to be a big player at this level. His experience and know-how would fit perfectly with Potter's method.

There would be a cost here, but one player we think would fit the Potter method perfectly is Barnsley's Brad Potts.

If they're looking likely to only grab a play-off place, maybe he could be convinced his future lies elsewhere.

He'd sit on one flank for the Swans and provide the sort of delivery that Ollie McBurnie would thrive upon.

Josh Morris had a super season for Scunthorpe last time out, but as they've struggled, he's begun to look a little desolate.

Swansea could use him in the role currently occupied by Celina. If Potter is building for the future, his January signings won't necessarily come in as first team regulars, but Morris is just the type of ball playing midfielder they could develop.
