Swansea City are tenth in the current Championship table, not looking like an automatic spot is within their reach but still in the hunt for a play-off place.
They’ve tried a very different approach to bouncing back, as opposed to Stoke and West Brom they’ve not spent big at all. They let some stars go and have relied on fringe players from last season in the main.
It’s worked relatively well, they’re above Stoke but have taken on the persona of a Championship side, rather than a Premier League team looking to bounce back immediately.
Have they settled for their lot in the second tier? Perhaps for now, yes. Graham Potter looks to be building a team for the future, rather than hoping for a quick fix.
In January he’ll be adding to the squad, but will be doing so in a measured, calculated way, spending little but hoping for rough diamonds and unheralded future stars to arrive.
