Sheffield Wednesday have endured a tough beginning to the 2016/17 season, with 2 losses, 2 draws, and 1 win in the league thus far, whilst also being humiliated by Cambridge United in the EFL Cup, losing 2-1.

For a team that came agonisingly close to promotion last term, the Owls’ start is extremely disappointing, especially for the Hillsborough faithful.

In addition to this, severe unrest between talisman Fernando Forestieri and boss Carlos Carvalhal has disturbed tranquility at the Yorkshire club, after the Italian refused to play against Norwich City a couple of weeks ago.

Now that unrest has been put to bed, for now, Carvalhal will be looking to regain form and start winning games again, in order to form a total blitz on the Championship, and the acquisitions of Steven Fletcher, Almen Abdi, and David Jones definitely help in doing this.

Here, FLW writer George Harbey identifies THREE players the Wednesday boss should look to bring in before 11:30pm tomorrow.....

Marc Pugh

Having made 233 appearances for AFC Bournemouth, it seems as if Pugh's time is over at the South Coast club, enduring 6 magnificent years with the Cherries.

The 29- year-old was the catalyst of Bournemouth's successes in the 2014/15 Championship campaign, where Eddie Howe's men gained promotion to the top flight.

The attacking midfielder, who can also operate as a winger, is a player the Hillsborough faithful have been crying out for in recent times.

Chris Mavinga

Mavinga is a French left back who currently plays for Rubin Kazan.

The Owls could do with a backup for Daniel Pudil, who recently signed a permanent deal after an impressive loan spell from Watford.

Mavinga started his professional career off at Liverpool, and has gone on to make 57 career appearances ever since.

Jordan Rhodes

For a player of Rhodes' calibre and quality, it seems unusual as to why he isn't featuring in Aitor Karanka's starting lineup at Middlesbrough.

Having scored 167 goals in 318 career appearances, and having reached double figures in four successive seasons for Blackburn Rovers from 2012 to 2016, Rhodes is about as prolific as you can get in the Championship.

The 26-year-old Scottish international would be a perfect recruit for Wednesday, and would form a magnificent partnership with either Steven Fletcher or Fernando Forestieri up top.

So...What do you think Wednesday fans? Would you agree with these 3 suggestions? Who else would you like to see Carlos Carvalhal sign? Leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
