Sheffield Wednesday find themselves seventh in the Sky Bet Championship, and in with a real shout of at least making the play-off's this season.

A return to the Premier League is surely not too far away for Carlos Carvalhal's men if the club continue to spend, and more importantly, play like they have this season.

With good performances though, comes unwanted attention on your squad from other clubs around the country looking to strengthen.

Players also find themselves on the fringes of the first team and begin to become unhappy as a lack of opportunity arises.

In this article, I detail THREE players Sheffield Wednesday may cash on in the transfer window, should the right bid come along.......

Sergiu Bus

Bus only signed for Wednesday last year, moving from CSKA Sofia after impressing with his goals record and all around play.

While initially impressing down at Hillsborough too, Bus has found first team opportunities hard to come by this season, being restricted to only a handful of appearances.

Carlos Carvalhal has acknowledged some players may wish to go out at least on loan, and if the right bid came along for Bus, then it would be unlikely the manager would stand in his way of a move.

Caolan Lavery

Caolan Lavery

The young Irishman has been touted for a few seasons now as one of Wednesday's best young players.

While he does possess ability and is a goal threat when he does play, with Wednesday looking for bigger and better things, it may be that he is moved on permanently.

Lavery is currently impressing out on loan at League Two outfit Portsmouth, where he has scored four goals in 13 appearances.

If Pompey were to submit a six or seven figure bid for the 23 year old, Wednesday would be tempted to cash in on him for sure.

Lewis McGugan

There is something which just doesn't quite sit right regarding Lewis McGugan and his current situation at Hillsborough.

Rumours of a small bust up with the manager, and also trust issues as to whether he can stick to a set position, have seen him out of the first eleven for a while now.

There is no doubting his ability, and he is a match winner on his day, but if another club comes in with a bid similar or to the tune of more than what they paid for him in the summer, it seems pretty certain he could well be allowed to leave.

Wednesday working towards a bigger goal than just accommodating Lewis McGugan into their starting 11, and with that being the case, a move might be best for all parties.
